Description

A wonderful Azurite-on-Malachite specimen from the famous pit No. 9 of the Moroccan Touissit deposit, which provided exceptional Azurite pieces, particularly in the 1980s and 1990s. Here we see excellently formed, sharp, and mostly doubly terminated deep royal blue Azurite crystals nicely scattered over green Malachite matrix. The terminations are wonderfully chisel-shaped and contrast beautifully with the green matrix. As far as I can tell with the unaided eye, all of the highly lustrous, up to 1,1 cm measuring crystals are pristine. A highly aesthetic specimen from a time long past. The specimen comes with a high quality lucite custom base.
