Description

When I held this piece in my hands, I thought at first glance it was a superb brownish Pyromorphite from Bunker Hill. And these Vanadinites look like fine Pyromorphites, and for many years they got away with this masquerade when they came onto the market in the late 1960s and early1970s from Bou Bekker in Morocco. These hexagonal, partially doubly terminated barrel-shaped crystals, up to 2 cm in size, have a beautiful color, excellent luster, and fine translucency—they are superb Vanas and this is a great, well balanced miniature sized specimen, well above average for this locality and style.
