Description

Good matrix pieces of Polybasite are rare and desired, and here we see several well developed aggregates up to 1.7 cm in diameter nicely and contrastful set on light purple Amethyst. These outstanding intergrown crystals of pseudohexagonal Polybasite, a rare silver sulfosalt, are strikingly robust and not the delicate ones which we all know. The Polybasite here is typical silvery lead-gray with fine metallic luster and showing partially nice twinning. It occurs on a matrix of whitish to light lilac, partially idiomorphic Amethyst crystals. While not 100% perfect, this is an absolute killer piece, rarely offered in terms of combination and aesthetics. The specimen comes with a high quality lucite custom base.
