Description

This is an exceptionally good and unusual specimen of this remarkably rare iron phosphate. It consists of beautiful, sharp, lustrous, gem-like, green crystal clusters, some of which bow-tie form and also single crystals of Ludlamite. They are nicely set on highly aesthetically, slightly deformed, cubed Pyrite crystals. The Ludlamite crystals here reach a length of 8 mm, and the brassy and highly metallic lustrous Pyrites is reaching a maximum of 1.8 cm on edge. There are approximately five localities worldwide that produce finely crystallized Ludlamite specimens. All of these localities, with the exception of Huanuni, are meanwhile abandoned. No significant specimens of this species have been found at this locality in recent years, and it is quite possible that no further finds will occur in the future.
