Description

Here we see a very large, exceptionally rich, and good specimen of the RARE mercury-antimony sulfosalt Livingstonite from the TYPE LOCALITY of Huitzuco, Guerrero, Mexico. It was originally described by Mariano Barcena in 1874. This is by far one of the finest Livingstonite specimens I have seen over the years and somewhat larger and more robust than the previously described one from update 25-07! The crystals of this specimen consist of metallic, light lead-gray, slender, prismatic, and columnar crystals up to 1.8 cm long, intergrown with stibnite. Occurs in low-temperature hydrothermal veins at this locality in Mexico.
