Description

Do you know the famous so-called "Fluorite scalenohedrons" from the Cäcilia Mine near Wölsendorf in Upper Palatinate? And here we see one of these great items. These absolutely gem-like Fluorites come from two discoveries in 1961 and 1963 at the 210-meter level of the Cäcilia Mine. The Fluorite is showing the very rare form (731), which forms elongated, complex crystals slightly reminiscent of Calcite! The light amber color is very appealing, as are the diverse, silky to almost glassy surfaces. The Fluorite crystal is well-terminated and in excellent condition. The aesthetics is very good, and the piece is mineralogically interesting and significant beyond its presentational quality. Good fluorescence as well.
