Description

Good Belgian Fluorite is very rare. Specimens almost never appear on the international mineral market, as they are usually scooped up by local collectors as soon as they become available. Therefore, I am very pleased to offer this wonderfully colorful, natural-etched (!!!) floater specimen with extremely high adamantine luster, excellent translucency, and captivating color ranging from a very delicate light green on the outer areas to a rich violet center. One can clearly see the dissolved crystal faces and crystals, as well as a large cleavage on the back of the piece, which acts like a window pane allowing a view into the interior of the piece. Fluorite crystals from this limestone quarry are extremely rare; most of the Fluorite from this unique find occurred as massive, often etched lumps, rather than in an aesthetically pleasing mineral specimen like this one with numerous intergrown smaller crystals. Pieces like this were found in the late 1970s and have never been found again since. Excellent and rare material.
