Description

Actually a pretty common association of the Siegerland area but specimens from well known Große Burg Mine of Altenseelbach are way more rare and desired compared to pieces from many other localities of the region. Altenseelbach (NRW) is very close to Herdorf in Rhineland-Palatinate. This fine specimen features a beautiful combo of multifaced slightly tarnished, iridescent and intergrown Chalcopyrite tetrahedrons with slightly bent edges. They are accompanied by deformed dull and creamy Dolomite rhombs to nearly 2 cm in diameter. No imperfection so far I can see to the naked eye, just at the periphery there is one minor bruised Dolomite. The Große Burg Mine was defunct in 1959 and consequently specimens like this one are still history and desired as well. The piece comes with a fine old label.
