Description

Good Fluorite specimens from the Dörfel Quarry near Annaberg-Buchholz in the Saxon Ore Mountains are rare and are usually distributed among local collectors and guarded like treasure. It is all the more pleasing that we can offer this wonderful specimen with Fluorite cubes up to 4 cm on edge. The sharp crystals have a beautiful amber-like tint with wonderfully clear blue "phantom edges". Some sections of the crystal faces show parquet texture; luster and transparency is equally extremely good. With the exception of one larger crystal on the periphery, all of the crystals are perfect and the overall aesthetics of this specimen is quite outstanding. The Dörfel Quarry (now called Bögl Quarry) is an active aggregates quarry where collecting has been outlawed since 2019.
