Description

A very excellent specimen with botryoidal, bright yellow crystal clusters of Smithsonite with an excellent velvety luster. This is definitely a relatively rare deep yellow color, most likely caused by Cadmium in the crystal lattice of the Smithsonite. Both sides of the specimen are richly covered, and especially the display side is absolutely intact and highly aesthetic. Even the back is impressive and undamaged. This magnificent and now relatively rare specimen dates from the early 1990s and most likely from the 8th level of the San Antonio Mine in the East Camp of the Santa Eulalia Mining District, Aquiles Serdán Municipality, Chihuahua, Mexico.
