Description

I still vividly remember when the unforgettable South African dealer Cleive Quiet brought the first pieces of this material onto the market in the 1990s. There was an uproar going through the entire mineralogical community. Fluorite specimens with such a bright green color, combined with precise octahedrons had by that time rarely appeared on the market. And perfect specimens like this one with sharp and nearly water-clear and almost neon green crystals have always been rare and sought after back then. A closer look at this stunning piece reveals a somewhat elongated cluster of not too densely grouped Fluorite octahedrons up to over 3 cm in diameter in absolute perfection. Great color, great aesthetics and extremely rare on the market in this quality. Note: The Dutch name "Riem-vas-maak" comes from the fact that the "straps for the cattle were fastened" to the watering hole.
