Description

This is an excellent specimen, a colorful floater consisting of doubly terminated blood-red Realgar crystals up to 6 cm. These are partially accentuated by white sprays of Picropharmacolite and gray, lustrous Calcite crystals. The specimen has an excellent vitreous luster and very good translucency. Definitely one of the most beautiful combination specimens that have survived to this day, as this spectacular find dates back to the 1990s. This piece is a survivor that was previously housed in the Mornie collection is proof that keeping the Realgar specimens out of sunlight and heat preserved it unique translucency and red glow. This is not a traditional display specimen which would be exposed to excessive light and heat in a mineral cabinet. It should be kept in a lidded box and put back after taking it out for admiration.
