Description

This is a highly contrasting and strikingly aesthetic specimen of salmon-pink Inesite crystals as wonderful sprays up to 1 cm in size. They are accompanied by slender rock crystals and small but clearly visible crystals of the rare species Hubeite. All three species are nicely perched together on a very aesthetic mounded matrix. Inesites are rare - best known from the Kalahari manganese fields—but this one comes from a recent discovery at the Fengjiashan mine in China. This mine continues to offer new surprises thanks to its incredibly rich ore spectrum, which forms a wide variety of secondary minerals. Although there is minor imperfection here, the clusters have an attractive, deep reddish-pink color and are abundantly scattered across the surface.
