Description

This truly bizarre specimen features numerous tentacles of Flos Ferri,- a "Medusa-shaped" Aragonite varietal. Defintely a captivating small cabinet specimen of LIGHT-BLUE Flos Ferri forming towering structures of interwoven rods, ram’s horns and curved stems from the world-famous locality of Steirischer (Styrian) Erzberg in Eisenerz, Austria. ‘Eisenerz’ translates to Iron Ore and this locality being home to the largest deposit of Siderite in the world. Styrian Erzberg was the first location where the variety Flos Ferri was recognised and this specimen is a real beauty which will display wonderfully. Blue Flos Ferri specimens from this locale are so rare and hard to come by,- for 1000 white specimens there is one blue one. They are so seldom seen for sale, due to the fact that the collectors, especially the locals hold them back and treasure them like gold.
