Description

Here we see a great Italian Alpine classic! This specimen hosts several, rich reddish orange colour, highly lustrous, gemmy, sparkling, dodechedra (with minor trapezohedral modifying faces) of Hessonite measuring up to 8 mm superbly scattered over the matrix. There is some minor pale green associated Diopside and bladed Clinochlore on the specimen as well. Bellecombe is famous for these Hessonites and they are truly some of the world´s finest for what they are. These are excellent quality crystals from this locality.
