Description

An exceptionally representative and rich specimen with numerous, crystal-clear Meionite crystals with an enormous diameter of up to 0.6 cm nicely perched on typical matrix. The individual crystals are super gemmy, extremely multiple faceted, nicely striated and, as far as I can judge with the unaided eye, absolutely pristine. Typically, at Monte Somma near Naples, the TYPE LOCALITY of Meionite, crystals of this rare member of the Scapolite-Meionite series only occur in tiny crystals measuring a few millimeters. Such aesthetic and representative pieces are extremely rare.
