Description
This is a heavy silvery Allargentum cluster. Allargentum is rare Silver Antimony sulfosalt and Schlema-Hartenstein district is THE classic locality for the species. The sparkling surface is graced with well-defined, sharp small, lead-gray Acanthite crystals with a beautiful metallic luster. Mining activities in the Schlema-Hartenstein Silver and Uranium mining district southeast of the town of Zwickau ceased in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and the federally owned Wismut GmbH is tasked with cleanup and environmental remediation until the mid 2020s.
