Description

This is a fine old-time miniature sized specimen with the very rare cadmium carbonate Otavite, typically accompanied by less blue-green Rosasite. In this case you see glistening cream-white microcrystals richly covering the surface of typical mounded Smithsonite-bearing matrix. Otavite was firstly discovered at Tsumeb by Otto Schneider in 1906 and named after the Otavi Highlands. This is a super piece of the SUPER RARE species in splendid condition and actually not offered for sale on the market in this outstanding quality. Ideal for the collector of Tsumeb minerals and also for collectors of rare species. NOTE: This specimen is ANALYSED and compared with other Otavite specimens offered on the web, this one is by far the richest one and a bargain all the way.
