Description

A striking specimen of Dioptase on Calcite from the well known Tsumeb Mine in Namibia, most likely the most well-known locality for such specimens. The Dioptase is observed as brilliant, gem-like to translucent, sharp crystals up to 4 mm in size, many of them doubly terminated and nicely scattered over glistening Calcite matrix. The color of the Dioptase crystals is a fine saturated emerald-green, contrasting pleasantly with a matrix of white Calcite crystals. The Calcite crystals are nicely formed and featuring a classic glistening surface. These are highly desired contrastful specimens and meanwhile seldom offered for reasonable prices as this one. Definitely an appealing selection of Dioptase on Calcite from the Tsumeb Mine.
