Description

This is an excellent elongated specimen with creamy bladed crystals of RARE tectosilicate Barrerite up to approximately 1 cm in size. They have a hexagonal habit, are sharp-edged, and partially gemmy. Barrerite is a rare zeolite species related to Stilbite, first described in 1974 and occurs only in a few places on Earth and is far less common. This specimen comes from a discovery in the late 1990s and sets a new standard for this species. It is also an aesthetically pleasing specimen.
