Description

Here we see a truly superb specimen of two rare species, with the Mendip Hills also being the type locality for Mendipite. This particular specimen is a true beauty by Mendipit standards, with an attractive mass of white crystals filling a druse in a dark matrix. The complete cluster measures nearly 6 cm in diameter and has many excellent crystals on the surface, above the massive Mendipite that fills it. More than an added bonus is the occurrence of the extremely rare Chloroxiphite as small grey, ledge-shaped crystals, which grew up on the Mendipite. This is a truly rich, rare, and undoubtedly old specimen.
