Description

Melonite is an ULTRA-RARE nickel telluride, and this superb combination piece presents itself in RICH, tombac-colored metallic ore masses, abundantly combined with brassy and also RARE Calaverite. This fine miniature specimen from the Great Boulder Gold Mine of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Shire, Australia, features a rich slab of somewhat indistinct but still clearly recognizable crystals of Melonite and Calaverite (gold telluride), beautifully accentuated by some white Quartz. Very representative and extremely rich for this both rare species, considering the species and the historic locality. 1982 find,- analysed material.
