Description

Radial clusters of prismatic, steel-gray, metallic Roman sword-shaped Semseyite crystals up to 1 cm tall are associated with some Galena on Sphalerite matrix. The perfection of the crystals and excellent overall aesthetics make up this virtually undamaged piece. Semseyite itself is a relatively rare Lead-Antimony sulfosalt and the Romanian Baia Sprie mine is the type locality for the species. This is a Eastern European classic from the great finds of the 1980s.
