Description

What a wonderful Rhodochrosite specimen with excellent contact twins from the Poudrette Quarry of Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Québec, Canada, the world-famous discovery site for numerous rarities and top specimens where 439 valid minerals and 73 first descriptions of valid minerals have been made. And this specimen is definitely one of these top pieces of this great deposit. Sharp, red-brown crystals up to 2.8 cm adorn this 360° specimen. Definitely material from the 1970s and most likely collected by Ernie Schlichter from Auburn, Massachusetts, one of the discoverers of the cleft. This specimen has both, extreme rarity and the highest aesthetics. This is a KILLER PIECE all the way!!!
