Description

This is a wonderful multicolored Tourmaline perched on typical pegmatite marix of Lepidolite and Feldspar. It is from the well-known Pederneira Mine near the municipality of São José da Safira in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. A 3.7 cm tall, perfect long prismatic Elbaite with a perfect, flat triangular termination with slightly beveled edges. The color changes from a clear raspberry red throughout, changes to slightly blue edge areas and turns into a wonderful indigo blue. The termination, which appears black at first glance turns out to be deep purple under the lense/microscope. A top piece of a very special kind and a feast for the eyes for every aesthete.
