Description

This is a magnificent Elbaite on Quartz from the Brazilian Pederneira Mine near the municipality of São José da Safira in the state of Minas Gerais. In this specific case it is a very excellent, 5.1 cm tall, doubly terminated Elbaite crystal, perfectly and well balanced perched on an equally doubly terminated, perfectly crystallized, short prismatic, slightly smoky Quartz crystal. The Elbaite with a vitreous luster has a wonderful lively green color, transitioning from dark olive green at the base to bright apple green in the center to olive green in the upper third and an finally, to deep lime green at the trigonal pyramidal termination. Definitely a top piece with a breathtaking combination of multicolored Elbaite on Quartz.
