Description
Azure blue crystals abundantly line vugs and cavities in a matrix of silicified sandstone. The sparkling Azurite crystals are associated with little Malachite and small stubby Quartz crystals. Very sought after, especially by Black Forest collectors but rarely available in good quality. An incredible classic, hard to find, from a mining district in the northeastern reaches of the Black Forest, where Copper and Silver ore was mining since the High Middle Ages. Mining in the area ceased in 1924, and today, most dumps have been reclaimed.
