Description
Probably the most prolific silver mine in Saxony was the Himmelsfürst Mine near Freiberg. It is likely best known for its wire silvers that came in a huge range of sizes. This specimen presents itself as a multitude of silver wires to almost 1 cm length on a carbonate (?) matrix. A glued on catalog number suggests that this specimen is a hisotric piece, though we have no information on the provenance.
