Description

Here we have an unusually aesthetic and superb thumber of excellently defined and relatively robust Atacamite crystals from the Wallaroo in Australia that probably dates to the early 1900s. It´s a small, but impactful piece comprised of deep emerald green and partly light lime green, transparent, prismatic crystals with most having excellent terminations (some are incomplete). The Atacamite crystals are super lustrous, well-formed and exhibit perceptible bright green internal reflections. This material is a historic classic and is extremely hard to come by today as most were mined prior to 1930 or so. To get such fine crystals is hard enough, but nearly pristine ones in a 3-dimensional piece are nearly impossible to obtain. Old material, superb for the species, and seldom seen. Much better in person.
