Description

This is a wonderful combination piece of three almost very rare silver sulfosalts. The EXTREMELY RARE germanium-bearing Argyrodite, as dull gray spherical aggregates a few millimeters in size, is accompanied by perfect, similarly sized, wonderfully crystallized steel-gray and mirror-bright sharp and six-sided Polybasite blades, as well as sparkling, bright red, very sharp, trigonal crystals of gem-like Proustite up to 0,5 cm, nicely set on a pink, sparkling, contrasting hemispherical Rhodochrosite-Quartz matrix. The Uchucchacua Mine in Peru is known for its native Silver and silver sulfide specimens, but Proustites from Uchucchacua are rarely found on Rhodochrosite matrix. A wonderful association specimen from this famous and prolific Peruvian silver deposit. The piece was analyzed by Prof. Frank Keutsch.
