Description

A truly outstanding specimen of Pyrrhotite from the well-known Starí Trg Mine of Trepča. The Trepča Complex and its sulfide deposits have produced a variety of magnificent combination piecews, such as this one, which is particularly characteristic of Pyrrhotite from this locality. Wonderful clusters of several, well-defined, bladed, hexagonal Pyrrhotite crystals are associated with Siderite in this attractive combination specimen. The metallic bronze-colored, hexagonal-shaped Pyrrhotites have a maximum diameter of 2 cm and, upon closer inspection, they appear lamellar at the edges, resembling densely packed, very thin potato chips. Highly aesthetic material from the heyday in the 1970s.
