Description

Freieslebenite is a very, very rare silver, lead, and antimony sulfide variety that occurs in good quality only at a few localities. The crystals found here reach a size of 0.5 cm, and there are many of them, nicely perched on a Quartz-rich matrix! I´ve never had a good German Freieslebenite before, as Spanish material from the late 19th and early 20th centuries is more common. And this is a superb specimen, richly covered with excellent, steel-gray crystals with typical longitudinalvertical striation. Such pieces have always been extremely rare and accordingly highly desired. A KILLER PIECE ALL THE WAY especially for the locality because the Beschert Glück Mine near Freiberg was abandoned in 1899.
