Description

Look at this very excellent, classic Mimetite variety Campyllite from Cumbria, England. A wide-open vug in a typical Dry Gill Mine matrix is richly lined with deep olive-green, barrel-shaped Campyllite crystals measuring up to 0.8 cm in size. These have an extremely high luster and as far as I can tell with the unaided eye, the specimen is in perfect condition. Older material from a mine that was abandoned for the lack of economic success in 1869 and in which collecting is now, after a string of accidents involving collectors, strictly prohibited under penalty of high penalties. Purchasing this specimen might be the better option, don’t you think?
