Description

Another specimen from the Loorz collection, Bockwiese, Harz, Germany. A beautiful miniature-sized Pyrargyrite specimen from the venerable Samson Silver mine near St. Andreasberg in the Harz Mountains that ended production in 1910, and is now a tourist mine. The mostly doubly terminated crystals with exceptional terminations are up to 1 cm tall and have an incredibly bright metallic luster. The main crystals are largely intact and associated with translucent, doubly terminated Calcite crystals. Both species are perched on lead-grey Galena with a dull metallic luster. The specimen comes with a historic label from the said collector.
