Description

This is an old-time German Bournonite specimen with a metallic cluster of bladed crystals accompanied by multifaced Galena and set on Siderite covered matrix. The major crystal measures 1,2 cm on edge and looks pristine to the naked eye but has imperfection with magnification. The Bournos here are very sharp edged and superbly developed with fresh luster and great overall aesthetics. Despite the new Bournonites coming from China, these old European ones are still greatly prized! This would almost certainly date to the late 1800s and a piece with crystals of such aesthetics and sharpness is rare on the market.
