Description

This is large gemmy translucent orange Orpiment (disc-shaped bulgy but well crystallized) on typical pyrite matrix from Quiruvilca. A specimen with a top intense color and super resinous luster, and crystals up to almost 2 cm. However, little edge wear is present (Mohs hardness is 1½ - 2!). Large and perfect Orpiment crystals are usually very delicate and perfect specimens are extremely rare.
