Description
This specimen is an excellent cluster of the colorless Beryl var. Goshenite from the Pingwu Mine in Sichuan Province in southwestern China. Hexagonal crystals with a very faint light blue hue, 3.6 cm tall and with a tabular habit are incredibly gemmy and lustrous. The display side of the piece shows hopper growth textures on the terminations and is pristine. A small amount of indistinct Cassiterites could be called the matrix. Like so many specimens with colorless minerals, this one is much better in person.
