Description

A cream-white cluster of bladed Barite, measuring 2.2 cm in diameter, perched on a piece of limestone matrix that itself is coated with a layer of Calcite. A nice combination with a great contrast, a very typical example for the locality, the Isle of Sheppey, an island off the northern coast of Kent, England, less than 70 km from central London, where Baryte here occurs in septarian nodules. This is a top specimen; they don’t come often in this quality.
