Description

This is a classic specimen from a classic British locality. Burnt orange-brown, intergrown but still exposed, Mimetite crystals of the Campylite variety with their typically barrel shape abundantly covering the display face of the specimen. The crystals clusters show a fine luster, a good color and only very minor edge wear at the periphery. A great, aesthetic specimen in super condition. And it is from the type locality for the species Campylite: the Dry Gill Mine of Cumbria, which Cooper & Stanley (1991) called "... of little commercial significance, this mine is one of the most famous mineral localities in the world."
