Remember, I bragged about the number of type minerals of the Hagendorf pegmatite? Well there are a handful of classic localities who have a much higher number. One of them is Tsumeb in Namibia, which boasts 342 valid mineral species and is type locality for 72. That is impressive, just like this Mottramite specimen. A top piece all around, measuring an impressive 12 cm and gorgeous from every angle. The piece is graced with an old collection number but it misses provenance ... but I would still take it in a heartbeat.
