Description

This is a fine old-time miniature sized specimen with the very rare cadmium carbonate Otavite, typically accompanied by less blue-green Rosasite. In this case you see glistening cream-white microcrystals richly covering two vugs in the typical matrix of Smithsonite. Otavite was firstly discovered at Tsumeb by Otto Schneider in 1906 and named after the Otavi Highlands. This is a super piece of the SUPER RARE species in splendid condition and analyzed as well. Ideal for the collector of Tsumeb minerals and also rare species collectors.
