A striking piece of tabular and well formed Hematite crystals from the famous Italian locality Rio Marina of Elba Island. I vividly remember the times of my youth in the 1970s and 1980s when regular caravans moved south during holiday , to visit the island of Elba to dig for good pieces. I have seen many pieces of their yield but rarely such fine and aesthetic pieces. Most of them were clunky and unsightly. But the crystals here are superbly multiple faceted with excellent pattern along most of the surfaces and their is only minor imperfection hard to see. As very aesthetical bonus there are wonderful iridescent colours at some crystals. Super aesthetic material from the old times.
