Description

The Morro Velho Gold Mine in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, is rather known for its excellent Siderite, Cubanite, and Quartz specimens. But this multifaced, honey-brown, 2.2 cm measuring crystal, nicely perched on a Quartz matrix and accompanied by smaller "cousins" is all the more astonishing. The luster of this water-clear Apatite is excellent, especially on the prism faces and with slight hopper growth visible at the terminations. Superb aesthetics as well.
