Description

This is an exceptional example of the extremely rare Antimony-Arsenic Molybdate Biehlite from the type locality in Tsumeb, Namibia. Abundant cotton-like tufts of cream white to light gray color on matrix. The crystals with a silky luster show good translucency under high magnification. This is an exceptionally good and very rich matrix piece of this extremely rare species, which was only found in the 3rd oxidation zone of Tsumeb. Biehlite was not described until 1999 and therefore does not appear in the important older publications. In the past, smaller pieces of this incredible material were extremely rarely offered. I don’t recall having seen many specimens of this size and aesthetics. If you look at this specimen, you surely will understand, that it cannot be sent by mail; it must be picked up/delivered in person.
