Description

Here we have a beautiful high contrast Kermesite specimen from Pezinok. These Kermesite specimens are famous and this locality has produced some of the finest European pieces of species. Here we have a superb array of lustrous, radial and fan-like Kermesite crystals laying flat against and covering the display surface of creamy crystallized Calcite, associated with tiny acicular Stibnite on veinstone matrix. This magnificent small cabinet specimen is from the classic Slovakian location at Pezinok in Pezinok County and is from the Trojárová Adit. Long acicular, deep kermesin-red crystals of Kermesite up to 2 cm display blood-red reflections when strongly-lit. Kermesite is an antimony oxysulphide and here we have a superb sample with great aesthetics from an older find that was offered to us at the Ste.-Marie-aux-Mines Show in 1998
