Actually the island of Elba is rather well known for its great Tourmalines and Pyrites, but here we have a rare species from the Calamita Mine. In this quarry my wife Karin practically grew up as a young girl because her family spent their vacations here. They regularly had to hide behind rocks when the quarry was controlled by the pit officers. However, here we have a small plate, covered with an undeterminated, light turquoise coloured species and numerous of excellent defined, sharp and deep green , glassy crystals of rare Paratacamite.
