Description
A very beautiful and typical specimen from the famous Blackdene Mine in the valley of the River Wear near Stanhope in Durham. The cube-shaped and sometimes clearly slender and cuboid-shaped Fluorite crystals to 2,9 cm, are extremely sharp-edged, highly lustrous and transparent. The color is slightly purple with minimal but visible daylight fluorescence. The Fluorite is associated with multifaced, lead-grey Galena, and some flattened white Calcite rhombs.
