Description
Intense purple glassy and gemmy Vesuvianite crystals from the Canadian Jeffrey Mine near Asbestos. The now-closed Jeffrey Mine, once one of the largest asbestos producers in North America, is world-famous for its superb Grossular Garnets and Vesuvianites. The rarest of the Vesuvianites are the few pockets of good purple crystals that show idiomorphic textbook form and although this is only a thumbnail we have an extremely highly saturated lilac color and excellent luster.
