Description
This is a superb Calcite twin from the Chinese Daye County which is known for its centuries-old mining history. A scalenohedral Calcite crystal, 5.2 cm tall, is beautifully crested by smaller, reddish Calcite scalenohedrons. The color of the main crystal transitions from a brick-red core, due to Hematite inclusions, to colorless translucent towards the termination. This specimen with its rich adamantine luster can be displayed from every angle.
