Description

Silvery-gray ball-shaped Smithsonite crystals and snow-white Calcite on a gossan matrix from the world-famous Lavrion district near Athens, Greece, where Silver was mined at least since the 3rd millennium B.C. The Smithsonite spheres have a silky luster, sn the two main aggregates are perfect. A lot of contrast on this aesthetic piece. Since the center pillar of the Smithsonite chamber has been blown up by inconsiderate collectors, access to this area has become very dangerous. This essentially means that the supply of more good specimens like this one is limited.
